See ya: the pair of guys from DAFT PUNK have decided to call it quits after 28 years in a video Monday morning titled "Epilogue."
Find the best Daft Punk songs HERE.
Moving: Singer STEVIE WONDER told OPRAH WINFREY that he'll be moving to Ghana because of the ongoing political upheaval here in the US. "I don't want to see my children's children's children have to say, 'Oh please like me. Please respect me, please know that I am important, please value me.' What is that?" he said.
Fast food: McDonald's new chicken sandwiches go on sale tomorrow (Wednesday) here in the US. There are three types; a Crispy Chicken Sandwich topped with pickles and served on a potato roll, a Spicy Chicken Sandwich with a spicy pepper sauce and a Deluxe Chicken Sandwich with lettuce, tomatoes and mayonnaise.
Nice timing: OPRAH's interview with PRINCE HARRY and MEGHAN MARKLE is scheduled on the same day as QUEEN ELIZABETH's Commonwealth address. Your guess now: who'll get more viewers? Meanwhile, Harry's older brother, PRINCE WILLIAM, is said to be "really sad and genuinely shocked" with the way Harry responded to Queen Elizabeth’s announcement that he and Meghan were stepping down from their royal roles. "You don’t answer the queen back --it’s just not done," said "an insider." The couple's statement said (in part) "as evidenced by their work over the past year, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex remain committed to their duty and service to the U.K. and around the world, and have offered their continued support to the organizations they have represented regardless of official role. We can all live a life of service. Service is universal."
MIKE LINDELL, that MyPillow CEO, is now fighting a legal suit over his claims that Dominion Voting Systems --a voting-machine manufacturer-- rigged the 2020 election for JOE BIDEN. Dominion filed a defamation lawsuit against Lindell for over $1.3 billion in damages. Dominion claims that “MyPillow’s defamatory marketing campaign — with promo codes like ‘FightforTrump,’ ’45,’ ‘Proof,’ and ‘QAnon’ --has increased MyPillow sales by 30 to 40 percent and continues duping people into redirecting their election-lie outrage into pillow purchases.” Dominion and another voting machine manufacturer, Smartmatic, have filed several lawsuits apiece recently against various right-wing media outlets and individuals who have repeated “unsubstantiated claims” about widespread election fraud.
While we're on the subject, former PRESIDENT TRUMP is scheduled for his first public appearance since leaving the White House at a conservative conference beginning this Thursday in Orlando. Axios reports his speech will wrap up the conference over the weekend, and he will claim that he is still in charge of the Republican Party and is its “presumptive 2024 nominee.”
And a final Trump item --the Supreme Court has rejected Mr. Trump's attempt to shield his tax returns from Manhattan District Attorney's Office. ABC News reports the reason the DA's office wants them is to find out whether the Trump Corporation artificially inflated the value of Trump's properties in order to get the best possible loans.
COVID update: The London Sun reports a new study reveals people who wear glasses are three times less likely to catch the coronavirus simply because they don’t rub their eyes as often. The report claims people touch their faces 23 times an hour and their eyes three times an hour on average. And of course, you can get infected by touching your face, nose, mouth and eyes --unless you wear a mask. And even if you do, that doesn't protect your eyes. But, if you wear glasses, “The risk of Covid-19 was two to three times less... than the population not using spectacles."
Finally, you'd have to be in Arizona, to do it, but it's a new way for animal shelters to get people to adopt dogs --give them a few joints to say "thanks"! The folks at the Territory Dispensary did a fundraiser to benefit the Desert Tails Shelter --in return for adopting a spayed or neutered dog or puppy (puppies are $280 and dogs just $120) they gave out five free joints. It's the third year they've held their "Pups and Prerolls" event.
