As you probably know, a new PRINCE album, "Welcome 2 America," is due out July 30th. The album was originally due out in 2011, in conjunction with his Welcome 2 America Tour, and has 23 tracks on it. One of them, “Born 2 Die,” is out now. Find it here. Turns out Prince recorded the song as a slap in the face to Dr. CORNEL WEST, who'd previously said that Prince was “no CURTIS MAYFIELD.” Judge for yourself.
Today (Friday, June 4th) is this year's National Donut Day, and to celebrate, some of our favorite fast food doughnut chains are giving out freebies --for instance:
--Dunkin' Donuts will be handing out a free doughnut with any drink purchase.
--Krispy Kreme has two deals: (1) you can get a free doughnut of your choice and (2) if you buy a dozen doughnuts, they'll give you another dozen of their original doughnuts. And there's also the free doughnut if you show proof of your COVID vaccination.Check your local doughnut shop for a special as well.
Today (Friday, June 4th) is the day that Disney California Adventure Park’s new Avengers Campus opens. You can check out Spider-Man as he leaps 60 feet into the air; you train with Wakanda’s Dora Milaje; and you can join Spider Man movie star TOM HOLLAND as he makes you put on 3-D glasses and use you to help capture out-of-control “Spider-Bots” with your own web.
Tomorrow (Saturday), former President DONALD TRUMP will be giving a speech in North Carolina, and political observers wonder if he'll use it as a means to embark on a more public phase of his post-presidency. Nobody expects him to announce a run for another term of office at this early date, although a recent Quinnipiac University poll found that 66-percent of Republicans surveyed would like to see him run again.
