How much would you pay to get launched into space with JEFF BEZOS? How about $28 million bucks? That's how much somebody shelled out to get a seat on Bezos's first crewed spaceflight coming up July 20th. The trip up into space is expected to last around 10 minutes and you'd sit next to Jeff and his brother, MARK, for the 62-mile trip. To do the math, that's 2.8 million a minute or about $45,160 per mile.
Guess who doesn't like K-POP music? That'd be North Korean dictator KIM JONG UN, whose latest proclamation is to penalize anybody caught listening to songs or possessing music by groups like BTS up to 15 years of hard labor. That's because Kim believes K-pop is corrupting North Korean kids’ "attire, hairstyles, speeches (and) behaviors." Of course, this is just the latest dictate from Kim, who outlawed mullets and skinny jeans in an attempt to cut off "decadent" Western-style fashion trends this past April.
See ya: VIN DIESEL has revealed the producers of the “Fast and Furious” movies will be ending the series with just two more movies following the current "F9."
Tube talk: Look for VALERIE BERTINELLI and DEMI LOVATO in a pilot for a new series called “Hungry.” Just from the title, you could guess that it's a comedy+ about friends in a food-issues group who are hunting as much for love as they are for the perfect snack in the fridge... or somebody who might share it with them. Valerie will actually be cast as Demi's mom in the show.
Movie news: There's a movie being made about the late stand-up comedian and TV host, BERNIE MAC.
More TV: Look for STEPHEN COLBERT's "The Late Show" to be back in the Ed Sullivan Theater in New York City with a live audience for his show tonight (Monday night) for the first time in 15 months.
Alert your (young) daughter: Mattel, which makes all sorts of toys, announced last week that they were making a new collection of Barbie dolls out of recycled plastic. The collection, called "Barbie Loves the Ocean," has dolls, dressed in beachwear, for just $10 on Mattel's website. The dolls also have accessory sets also made from 90-percent recycled plastic as well.
Fast food: The folks who make Pringles potato chips are putting out brand-new cans of Pringles Wavy Pineapple Habanero chips for a limited-time. And if you're buying a can, take a picture of the receipt and send it to Kellogg’s Family Rewards by October 14th and you'll qualify to win a tropical escape to either Hawaii or Mexico. Look for the new chips at either Walgreens and Duane Reade stores and online while supplies last.
