If you received an e-mail over the weekend from Homeland Security titled: "Urgent: Threat actor in systems" --it wasn't real. The FBI has launched an investigation after more than 100-thousand of the fake emails were sent from one of its servers warning of a possible cyber-attack.
Music: BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN showed up Friday night in Red Bank, New Jersey for a special screening of of the film “The Legendary 1979 No Nukes Concerts.” Bruce talked about his role in the film, which shows the E STREET BAND performing during the two nights of concerts at Madison Square Garden along with JACKSON BROWNE, TOM PETTY & THE HEARTBREAKERS, CROSBY, STILLS & NASH, BONNIE RAITT, JACKSON BROWNE, THE DOOBIE BROTHERS and CARLY SIMON.
Love Boat update: Carnival Cruise Lines now says all 22 of its U.S.-based ships will be back in operation by March of next year (2022). That means they'll be sailing out of Mobile, AL; Tampa, FL; Baltimore, MD; New Orleans, LA and other ports after a year-and-a-half postponements thanks to the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic.
Tube talk, take 1: The folks at Apple are putting together a limited series called "The Last Thing He Told Me" and Deadline reports JENNIFER GARNER will star in the series, replacing JULIA ROBERTS, who was originally set to star but had to pull out over a scheduling issue. The plot line is about a woman who forms an unexpected relationship with her 16-year-old stepdaughter while searching for the truth about why her husband has mysteriously disappeared.
Tube talk, take 2: Variety reports Disney Plus is putting together a sequel to the movie, "Hocus Pocus" about 30 years after the original came out. The new "Hocus Pocus 2" will bring back BETTE MIDLER, SARAH JESSICA PARKER and KATHY NAJIMY as witches again whom a trio of high schoolers must stop before they wreak havoc on Salem before midnight on Halloween.
Tube talk, take 3: And enough with TV shows about mobsters --what about a series about mobsters' wives? HBO is doing a limited series based on the podcast, “Mob Queens,” and starring LENA DUNHAM, RUTH WILSON, and DENNIS LEHANE. In the series, Ruth will play ANNA GENOVESE, the second wife of well-known crime boss VITO GENOVESE back in the 1930s. And it was Anna who blabbed about her husband's crimes and broke Cosa Nostra law when she blabbed about him during her divorce hearings.
