Like you really care: The guys from BTS say they'll be taking a break from touring and spending the holiday season with their families. The group's management said it'll give them "a chance to get re-inspired and recharge with creative energy." But they all now have personal Instagram accounts and spent some quality time posting on Monday.
More music: DRAKE has had his two Grammy nominations for this year --Best Rap Album, for "Certified Lover Boy," and Best Rap Performance, for "Way 2 Sexy" taken off the official Grammy website. Drake has had a contentious relationship with the Grammy Awards, last year saying the Grammys should be replaced after several artists, including THE WEEKND, were overlooked.
Lotsa people get fired but can you imagine getting a on Zoom call with 900 other people and all of you getting fired? That's reportedly what happened at the mortgage firm Better.com, when the boss --VISHAL GARG, the CEO of the firm-- told people "If you're on this call you're part of the unlucky group being laid off."
That accounted for around 15 percent of his workers, despite a payment from one of their investors of $750 million dollars.
Fortune magazine also reported that he previously accused some of his staffers of "stealing" from their colleagues and customers by being unproductive and only working two hours a day, while claiming they'd worked for eight or more.
In Nashville, TN, a statue of Confederate General NATHAN BEDFORD FORREST has been taken down. You could see the statue from I-65, but as you may know, General Forrest was one of the early leaders of the Ku Klux Klan and when the man who owned the property died, the executor of the will ordered for the statue --which was often defaced and vandalized-- taken down. Local sources say it may be put up for sale.
Couple of problems for TESLA. First, a report that after the company made a software update in its cars this past July, it actually lets the driver play video games on a big touch screen right in the middle of the dashboard... even when the cars are moving. As you might imagine, this could cause problems and actually is not approved by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration guidelines.
In addition, Tesla --which makes solar panels for houses-- has been notified that the SEC (Security and Exchange Commission) has opened an investigation into Tesla over a complaint that the company failed to notify its shareholders and the public of fire risks associated with solar panel system defects. No word on any fires that have been caused by defective panels, however.
Folks in South Carolina got a surprise when they dropped by Raising Cane's fast-food restaurant in Charleston and found CHEVY CHASE was serving them in the drive-thru. Chevy was in town for a special screening of his holiday classic "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation" and stopped into the restaurant for some chicken and then asked the staff if he could work the counter and drive-thru.
