ABC's top-rated daytime show, “The View,” is looking for a conservative co-host who won’t upstage the other somewhat liberal or moderate women on the show --WHOOPI GOLDBERG, JOY BEHAR, SUNNY HOSTIN and SARA HAINES-- now that MEGHAN McCAIN has left. But it's apparently a difficult task to find somebody. ANN COULTER says she would do it but told the NY Post “Yes, of course I would [take the job] but they will never pick me,” Coulter told The Post. “[It seems] they don’t mean what they say. You might be exposing a double-secret requirement: Must be a dumb, easy-to-push-around Republican.”
Mega Millions jackpot Tuesday night is up to $300 million. Odds of picking all five numbers plus the Mega Ball are 1 in 302.575 million.
HEIDI FLEISS is back in the news. The former “Hollywood Madam” who was accused in the mid-1990s of running a Los Angeles prostitution ring said she is moving out of a southern Nevada town where she has lived for about 15 years because she's angry that someone shot one of her pet parrots with a pellet gun just before Christmas. She's moving to Missouri with her exotic bird collection by the end of February.
Looking to move to the West Coast? Got just the place --a luxurious Bel Air estate outside Los Angeles and nicknamed “The One.” It features a bowling alley, a home movie theater and 42 bathrooms. It's on the market for just (wait for it...) $295 Million. It has 21 bedrooms, and also five swimming pools and water features, a 10,000-square-foot sky deck, and a 400-foot private outdoor running track with a glass-walled view of the city. Indoors, there's a four-lane bowling alley; private Dolby Digital theater; 10,000-bottle wine cellar; nightclub; custom bar and cigar lounge; a full-service spa; gym and wellness center; and a 30-plus car garage.
North Korea now claims KIM JONG IL invented the burrito. At the time, he reportedly called them "wheat wraps" according to their news agency. They've also claimed in the past that Kim Jong Il --who's current dictator KIM JON UN's dad-- invented the hamburger. Of course, some experts have claimed that North Korea doesn’t even have the ingredients to make burritos, much less the ability to supply them to citizens.
Looking to get a car like James Bond would drive? Good news --Aston Martin has just leased its first-ever Manhattan showroom, and said they'll be displaying their car inside. Which, by the way, costs $5 million dollars. You'd have to pay extra for the revolving license plates, pop-up machine guns and battering ram.
CNN says a Massachusetts school district is using a pair of Labrador retrievers to detect Covid-19 in their schools. Trainers took a mask which had been worn by a person who tested positive, and after using a UV light to kill the virus, the mask was cut into pieces and placed in a plastic bag, to help the scent become imprinted on the dogs. Turns out Covid causes metabolic changes, which in turn produces a specific odor. The dogs go thru classrooms and try to smell that odor, but the principal says "It's really not disruptive or intimidating. These were not drug sniffing dogs."
