Over in China, the Winter Olympics are two weeks away, but organisers have imposed restrictions on athletes and in Beijing, where the city's where city's first Omicron case has been detected, the Chinese have brought back anal swab testing for people suspected of coming down with Covid. In case you're thinking of visiting, anal swab testing has been used in China since 2020. Bend over!
Sad news: Ozzie, the third-oldest male gorilla in the world, Died this week at the Atlanta Zoo... he was 61 years old! Ozzie made history in 2009 when he became the first gorilla in the world to ever participate in a voluntary blood pressure reading. He's survived by four children, one granddaughter and two great-grandchildren, all of who live at Zoo Atlanta.
General Motors is putting $3 billion bucks to work by building a factory in Michigan that will exclusively build electric cars and trucks. GM sez it will have the ability to churn out 3 million electric vehicles by 2025.
And "The Jetsons" is coming to real life --a car that can transform into a small aircraft has passed flight tests --more than 200 takeoffs and landings-- with (ahem) flying colors! The "Aircar" uses a 1.6 liter BMW engine; designers say it will run on fuel sold at any gas station and will be able to fly at a maximum altitude of 18-thousand feet!
