Not so good news: The White House says we’ve passed more than one million Covid-related deaths and it's the highest official total in the world --although the World Health Organization believes the true death toll may be much higher elsewhere.
Apple has lost its position as the world's most valuable company because of last week’s sell-off of technology stocks. Saudi Arabian oil and gas producer Aramco has reclaimed the top spot for the first time in almost two years.
Taco Bell is bringing back the Mexican Pizza, and is planning a TikTok musical starring Dolly Parton to plug it. The Pizza will be back on this Thursday, while the movie will debut May 26th.
Mattel is putting out a new set of Barbie dolls in June featuring the first ever Barbie with hearing aids, and a Ken doll with the skin condition vitiligo. They began doing this kinda thing in 2019 when they released a blonde, blue-eyed Barbie in a wheelchair and a brunette doll with a prosthetic leg.
Not gonna happen: the horse, Rich Strike, which won the Kentucky Derby after going in with 80-1 odds, will not compete for the Triple Crown. The horse’s owner, B, said that after conferring with the horse’s trainer, they decided to bag going to the Preakness and head to the Belmont Stakes, the last race in the Triple Crown on May 21st. Thirteen horses have won the Triple Crown. The last one to do so was Justify in 2018.
Big problem for parents with babies –a nationwide shortage of baby formula. And food stores, drug stores and others which sell formula have rationed their sales or put it in special, monitored places to keep people from picking up lots of cans or boxes.
