The 411:
Well, that settles it: New research finds that women spend an average of two years and ten months of their lives shopping.
Buying essentials, including food and clothes, accounts for 25,184 hours and 53 minutes during 63 years.
A British marketing firm studied the habits of two-thousand women and found that over the course of their lives, they spend 25,184 hours and 53 minutes in the store --any store-- buying everything from essential to extravagant. Here's the breakdown:
--They make 301 shopping trips annually, totaling 399 hours, 46 minutes
--They buy food on an average of 84 times, totaling 94 hours and 55 minutes
--On 90 shopping trips a year, they buy clothes (30 times at 100 hrs, 48 min), shoes (15 times (40 hrs, 30 min) and accessories 18 times (29 hr, 31 min)
--In any given year, they spend 17 hours and 33 minutes buying personal hygiene items
--Another 19 trips (36 hrs, 17 min) go to buying gifts for friends and family
Oh, and they window shop at least 51 times a year. (Maiman)Guilty Pleasures:
No winner in Wednesday night's drawing for the Powerball Lottery. That means Saturday night's drawing is valued at $150 million ($72.4 million cash value). Powerball is played in 41 states, Washington DC and the U-S Virgin Islands. Chances of winning the grand prize (all five numbers plus the powerball) are 1 in 195.2 million.
Idle gossip & unconfirmed rumors:
QUENTIN TARANTINO may be LINDSAY LOHAN's last hope. Sources tell AbsoluteNow.com the quirky director has a specific role in mind for the wild child --one that could re-launch her career like JOHN TRAVOLTA did with "Pulp Fiction." Word is the rehabbed redhead is just the kind of character he loves and he may offer her a one-way ticket to success. (Lee)

LADY GAGA is supporting a teenage fan who was sent home from school on Monday for wearing a T-shirt that said, "I Love Lady Gay Gay." Administrators at Greenbrier High School in Tennessee decided that Cole Goforth's shirt was causing a disruption. Lady Gaga is on on tour in Australia, but when she was told about this she Tweeted that 15-year-old Cole is (quote), "an inspiration" and that she hated to hear that one of her fans was discriminated against by teachers. Taking everything much too seriously:
Back in 1982, a 15-year-old set the record for the highest ever score on the arcade game Asteroids. That record has never been beaten --until now.
Ananova.com says 41-year-old JOHN McALLISTER just racked up a score of over 41-million points by playing nonstop for 58-hours. And, McAllister broadcast his entire gaming session live over the internet from his friend's basement in Portland, OR.
After setting the new high score, McAllister said, "The Asteroids high score record is considered a holy grail. It's a title that a lot of people would want, and I wanted it."
