Married:
"Glee" star JANE LYNCH ("Sue Sylvester") and her partner, psychologist LARA EMBRY, on Monday at the Blue Heron Restaurant in Sunderland, MA, overlooking Sugarloaf mountain. Jane will be 50 in a month; the couple met at a National Center for Lesbian Rights event in May 2009.
Star magazine reports the pair decided to tie the knot in Massachusetts because same sex marriages are not legal in California, where the couple lives.Splitting:
British singer CHARLOTTE CHURCH and her boyfriend /rugby star /baby daddy, GAVIN HENSON. X17.com reports that the couple had planned to get married just two months ago, and Gavin popped the question the day after Charlotte's 24th birthday. But now, it appears that's over. The pair have been together for five years and have two children, a two-year-old named RUBY, and a 16-month-old toddler named DEXTER.
Engaged (again):
Looks like RUSH LIMBAUGH is heading to the altar again. KATHRYN ROGERS will be his fourth wife after the ceremony, set for this week in West Palm Beach, FL. Rush, who's 59, has been married three times before, Kathryn, who's 33, has never been married.
According to KOKV-TV, Rogers is a direct descendant of founding father JOHN ADAMS; they first met in 2004 when she ran a golf tournament /fund-raiser for GARY PLAYER's charity and El Rushbo was a celebrity guest. She has reportedly been dating him since 2007, and wearing a ring on THAT finger for more than a year.Divorcing:
AL and TIPPER GORE. In an e-mail to friends, the Gores said it was "a mutual and mutually supportive decision... made together following a process of long and careful consideration."
They were married for 40 years; he's 62; she's 61. The couple has four grown children; KARENNA, KRISTIN, SARAH and ALBERT III.
Editor's note: Who knew global warming could be such a home wrecker. (Maiman)
Sidebar: In reporting the story, CNN inadvertently posted Al and Tipper Gore's e-mail address. "The story included a link to a PDF of the email the Gores sent to friends. While the email address was blacked out in the PDF, clicking on the black bar opened the user's preferred email client, revealing the address used to send the note." Of course, CNN corrected the error. Incidentally, if you see it somewhere online, the address had both Al and Tipper's names in it along with a particular website, but since they're divorcing, it's likely they ain't keepin' it. (And we ain't givin' it out, either. --Maiman)Twitter on Al Gore dating pick-up lines:
--@ToureX: "Do you know how much that dress is contributing to global warming? Cuz you're makin me hot!"
--@xibyt: "Is that a climate change or are you just glad to see me?"
--@colsonwhitehead: "Just checking your emissions."
--@tech1959: "I promise to finish second again."
--@ruthbourdain "I won't tap offshore oil, but I will tap that ass."
--@over_rated "There is an inconvenient growth in my pants."
--@gauravsabnis "Wouldn't you rather be having a drink with the inventor of the internet?"
--@colsonwhitehead That's just the tip. Like an iceberg broken off by warming, there's another 90% you haven't seen yet.
--@over_rated "Why don't you come up to my room and I'll show you the President?"
--@ToureX "Baby, if you think I'm wooden, wait until you meet Little Al."Also Splitsville:
GARCELLE BEAUVAIS-NILON is slapping the "single and lookin' to mingle" sticker on the backside of her SUV. The former star of "NYPD Blue" and onetime Playmate filed for divorce from her husband, MICHAEL NILON, back on May 10th. She's seeking joint legal and physical custody of their two-year-old twin boys and requested the court refuse his right to spousal support. (Lee)
He's dead, Jim:
ANDREW KOPPEL, the son of renowned broadcast journalist TED KOPPEL, died Monday in New York following a daylong drinking binge. Those with him when he began his bender say he took nothing else --no drugs-- and ate nothing all day. "There was a lot of alcohol," said a drinking companion. Finally, he became unresponsive and stopped breathing. He was an attorney with the city housing authority and is survived by his girlfriend and their baby daughter. He was 40. (Maiman)
