Creation

I'm camping with my church's youth group; we are at an enormous music festival called Creation. There are thousands of campers, tents, RV's and stages filled with Contemporary Christian Music. I do not come from a camping family, and I always remind my kids not to ever question my love for them when we begin to pitch the tents. Camping to me was always bugs, low light situations and rain. This time, camping with this group is fun, because I have others to share the chores with. Together, everon is hauling ice, cooking food, setting up the bathroom area and the campfire. Our youth Pastor is in charge of this particular trip and has this camping stuff down to a science. He brings his brother, the caterer, and his catering trailer; this year he rented an outdoor shower for the leaders. Right now I'm learning to play "pass the pigs," a game where you throw little pigs and gather points. Earlier today I hiked to a beautiful lake; tonight there's a concert starring Skillet, then fireside s'mores. There might not be room service or spa treatments offered, but really this camping stuff ain't so bad.
