I received a voicemail from the school superintendent of my county. ( find right name), it was a pre-recorded message welcoming our family to a new school year. This message included his vision for our county's upcoming school year, positive administrative changes that have taken place over the summer, and he stated he had personally visited every school to make sure they had everything needed to be ready for the first day of school. Bus and medical info was offered, as was encouragement to making sure my child received a good nights sleep and breakfast, reminding me breakfast would also be available for all children at school. In today's email world I gotta tell you, I appreciated hearing the voice of the man responsible for a large chuck of my child's education.
