I'm in a December wedding that falls right in the middle of the busiest month of the year. It happens three days after my daughters birthday, and three days before mine. If I wasn't having one of those "big" birthdays, it would be irrelevant. Besides all the basic day to day activities that comes with being a working mom, my stations amazing Christmas wish promotion will have me out most of this month working a split shift-mornings and afternoons... and did I mention I'm in a wedding! I adore the bride, she's like a sister to me, so I say this in jest and as a way to show how much "she" absorbs during any season for family and friends. Lovingly, I might add, I just happen to have a column to vent about the realities these times hold. Gifts will get purchased and wrapped, but I'm more concerned about my dress being altered and the bridal shower plans. Weird stuff to be thinking about while Santa is waiting to come down the chimney, but saying "I do" before the year ends sounds a whole lot better to me than "ho ho ho."
