I'm waiting on an unexpected car repair. Thankfully, my mechanic (whose voicemail was full), showed me some favor when I showed up first thing in the morning to see if there were any openings. He took me right away. She tip: having a good relationship with a quality mechanic is recommended. What should have been a quick repair turned into a three hour wait in their customer lounge. I'm typing this from a cushy couch, and wishing this waiting room had a Keurig. What I have instead is a character study of my fellow customers waiting for their cars. The first guest to join me is a tiny woman who came ready to sleep, complete with slippers and a blanket. She glares at me on the couch, pulls around a wooden chair, props her feet up, snuggles under her blankie, and falls asleep. I did not know what to do when her phone started blaring a concerto for five minutes; and I thought I was a deep sleeper. Did I mention it's 10 A.M.? Maybe she works nights. Maybe waiting rooms should have a sleeping area, because I really want to watch Dr. Oz, but I'm afraid I'll wake her.
*She thought: January blues are not an option, only let her settle for something that's going to make her feel good.
