Social connection can really spin a mom's emotions into a ball of coconut oil scented sweat. Really, a woman can go through an entire carton of Halo Top Ice Cream after feeling eaten up by some of her friend's texts.
Right now, that Halo Top is in my view as I scan a good 12 friend's Facebook pages sharing their trips to Italy and beyond. There must have been a sale on airfare to Tuscany and Airfare Watchdog neglected to send it to my inbox.
Twitter throws some pretty good shade too. The venting tweets have begun:
"Summer just started and already my kids are bored!"
"I can't believe that my kids are still asleep."
"My kids are at sleep-away camp for eight weeks and we might go visit them."
Her iPhone will become a quiet reminder of what she's missing because she works. Remind her that she's Wonder Woman. and there's a summer movie out about her.
I'm going to be a good re-tweeter on Twitter, @Oprah and @WomenDoItAll have content that feeds me, and them, and then we can all be fed and not be hungry because geez... we've already eaten too much ice cream.
Seriously, stick close to your listener, even if you think they have gone on vacation, checked out, or listen differently. Keep bringing yourself, the fun, the music, the freebies, the focus on how this is the best summer of her life.
