Cloudy With a Chance of Christmas

There is a select group who use a portion of July to prepare for Christmas. Call it crazy but they are usually ready to put their tree up as soon as Halloween is over. They get together to make ornaments, shop, and plan. They make wrapping paper, cards and gifts. The theory of Christmas in July is that the month is slower, allowing her to stock up and prepare for the challenges of her holiday season in December. Hopefully this head start leads to a more relaxed holiday season. Actually, it's not unusual for a woman to purchase a Christmas gift any time of the year. If she's on vacation and sees the perfect something for someone, she'll buy it and set it aside if her budget allows. Her hard-working mail carrier will fill her mailbox with catalogs touting fall clothes and winter wear soon if it's not already happening. Before she gets to that mail, she's splashing in the pool with her kids or working in a cubicle, wondering what the weather is really like outside. She might not be experiencing blizzard conditions but she could easily be formulating a plan for them. Ho Ho Ho.
