My teenage daughter's have taken to borrowing clothes from my closet. I'm not sure it's a compliment. They conveniently borrow without asking because I wasn't reachable when they had the need. Hello, when is text messaging not available? They are teenagers! Permission needs to be granted as some clothes are borrow-able and some are not. I pity the child who has my non-borrowable clothes strewn on her floor or shoved under her bed. Anything with a major designer label needs to stay put in my closet otherwise I'll be installing a anti-theft sensor. My kids can borrow things bought at Old Navy, Target ( love their Merona line), the Gap and Macy's. But the Banana Republic items and higher are off limits. I love my daughters, but their idea of clean or returning something in the same condition that it was received in is way different than mine. Besides my precious spawn I've friends that are the same. My neighbor Dara has a full set of Tupperware thanks to the goodies I have sent her through the years. It's not worth risking the relationship to ask for them all back. I have since switched to the cheaper Ziploc containers available. My friend Mary has a habit of having me pick up things for her at the store, and when I deliver she's out of cash; the same thing happens when my daughter babysits for her. She likes to run a tab.
