Sushi Roll

My 20 year old daughter celebrated the one year anniversary of dating her boyfriend over an amazing sushi meal. Following in the foodie footsteps of her mother she proceeded to text me after each course, describing the crab and crunch roll as delectable yet sticky enough to mend all the flavors. The tuna was delicate and sliced so thin it melted in her mouth. I was at a cellular store at the time and my salesman happened to get a glance at these texts and commented on each one. "The crab and crunch is my favorite", "tuna rocks" and so on. As my daughter enjoyed this celebratory meal her mother and a complete stranger lived vicariously through her and this fresh fish. We all enjoyed 6 different sushi dishes and some tempura. I preferred the "Tiger's Eye" made with squid and eel, the salesman was all about the tuna sashimi. I'm pretty sure my daughter was all about her boyfriend, who chose the dining experience.
I would very much like to start a second thought and discuss "the boyfriend"... but that's a whole other column, maybe even a couple of week's worth. However, I am glad they enjoyed their meal. Whether or not they had desert is not a conversation I want to have.
