WHO HAS

A recent personal appearance at a Woman's breakfast had me playing the "who has" game. "Who has been married the longest?" I asked. My winner was married as long as I have been alive: 47 years. When I asked Maria, this sweet little Italian woman, to tell me about her husband she sighs and says, "oh he's alright I guess" she continues to describe the difficulties of living with this man who is losing his hearing and "gets a little grumpy." Another Maria won the "who has the most children" slot. When I asked this beautiful Hispanic woman, married 46 years, to tell me about her husband she said "oh he's so handsome"; hence the five children. Learning about all the women in the room was eye opening as many still are looking for work, some going on two years of unemployment. Finally, I sought out the newest newlywed. Marcia won having just tied the knot three months prior to a man who had custody of his two children. It was a ready-made family. When I asked what she did for a living she said "I work in a Psychiatric hospital."
You can cue the rim shot because yes, every woman in that room not only thought this was hilarious but the perfect primer for marriage.
