Hanukkah begins at sundown tonight. Also known as the Festival of Lights, this eight-day Jewish holiday is celebrated in many homes. This means many women have been in preparation for this holiday and will lovingly take their family through this special time. On top of everything else this is a month filled with extras on top of extras. Plus everywhere she frequently shops will give her a 2011 calendar with said company's name on it as a year end thank you gift. She'd really prefer a coupon offering a free dry clean or a large percentage off her first order after the first of the year, but I digress.
Year-end countdowns and parties are being planned again along with all the holiday stuff and regular life stuff that happens. Anyone tired yet? I know it's only the first of the month but really, these next 25 days will be a whirl wind of activity: shopping, cooking, performing, working, partying and calming down kids who are just too excited for Christmas morning.
Emphatic is not the way to play this off in forms of support, but encouragement and a nap could help. Last night I was at the mall and I held the door for a woman who looked really done, I smiled as she said thanks and watched her wearily walk to her car. Clearly, it had been a long day. Hopefully the station she drove home with gets that and pumped her up. These are prime opportunities to really make a lasting impression in the midst of all the talked about holiday chaos. Remember you are first on her pre-set.

She Money
She's making a trade and it has nothing to do with the stock market. She can barter goods (she must have a closet or basement full of stuff she no longer needs) or services and find a gift that's per- fect to give or keep. Here are the sites at which to barter goods:
She Travel
Besides the new pat down procedures the here are some otherimportant FSA guidelines to keep in mind this holiday travel season:
Ice packs are only allowed for medical needs, not for food storage. It's best to
leave gifts unwrapped, just in case security officials need to check her bags, and wrap them when she gets to her destination. To see a complete list of approved TSA items, log onto www.tsa.gov.

She tips
- Remember: when visiting new friends and relatives, some homes might not be childproofed.
- Many restaurants send coupons to their data- base; sign up to receive email promotions.
She Pet
She can help find a pet in need at Much Love Animal Rescue, a nonprofit organization that rescues cats and dogs that are in danger of being put down. www.muchlove.org
Businesses are now trying to accommodate the needs of wannabe pet owners by offering animal-share plans for those whose lifestyle is not conducive to full-time animal care/ownership.
Busy lifestyles and travel commitments hold people back from committing to owning a pet. The city of Boston disagrees with this idea and passed an ordinance against the renting of dogs. What does she think?
She shoe
Shopping for shoes online is difficult; all shoes do not fit alike. Kathryn Kerrigan allows you to try before you buy, online. A "'shoe-tube' is sent, holding one shoe in the size, color, and style you'd like to try. If it fits, the mate will be sent and your credit card will be charged. If it's not a fit, return the solo shoe in a postage-prepaid envelope. www.kathrynkerrigan.com
She facts
- Americans personally gain approximately four pounds between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day.
- The United States Postal Service prints 4 billion holiday stamps per year.
She Clean
Clean clothes filled with germs? If you think about the stuff your washing, it may begin to make sense. Keep things clean and safe by washing and drying all clothes at 150 degrees, bleaching whites, and transferring wet laundry into the dryer as soon as they have been washed...then wash your hands.
Housework can be so complicated!
