If the women in your life are a little cranky today it's probably because they lost an hour of sleep over the weekend. I understand why this needs to happen; all the lack of sunlight...I just don't like it. But, the act of setting my clock back feels wrong and is physically hard for me. Okay, I might be exaggerating but when it comes to sleep, time is of the essence. Most Americans do not get enough sleep, yet resting can be the cure-all for many problems. Hungry, angry, lonely, and tired are big triggers for most problems. I know my family very much prefers when I'm not any of these things, but most importantly tired. I don't do well when I'm running late either.
Turning the clock back signifies Spring is coming and for us on the east coast it could not get here any quicker. It's recommended that she check her fire extinguishers and fire alarm when she turns her clock back. Did she? Did you? Studies show that most people do not have fire extinguishers in kitchens, yet that is where most household fires start. Most homes have fire detectors but the batteries go unchecked too. Perhaps you can't literally go to her house and check these things for her but you could provide the incentive and batteries :)
