Bliss is defined as perfect happiness or great joy. Have you felt it?
Do you feel it now?
Joseph Campbell wrote a book about bliss called, The Power of Myth. Put it on your reading list.
“If you do follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living.”
“When you can see that, you begin to meet people who are in the field of your bliss, and they open the doors to you.”
“I say follow your bliss and don’t be afraid, and doors will open where you didn’t know they were going to be.”
Is this ringing a bell? Does it feel familiar to you?
Because if it isn’t, if this all sounds like mystical crap, you need the book even more.
“There’s something inside you that knows when you’re in the center, that knows when you’re on the beam or off the beam. And if you get off the beam to earn money, you’ve lost your life.”
The work we’ve devoted our lives to has changed completely for many of us, and it will probably change even more in the years ahead.
This isn’t about change. It’s not about Radio before consolidation or after.
It’s about you.
It’s about feeling what you felt when you began. It’s about your calling, your gift, the reason you’re moved to do this work, the reason you get up every day to go in to the station.
If you can’t find the bliss where it used to be, what is that telling you about yourself and your own needs?
What will you do with this life? It’s the only one you get.
It’s never too late to get back into the center, where you started…
“And if you stay in the center and don’t get any money, you still have your bliss.”
