Like Work Isn't Already An Endurance Test

Finally catching on: working a "desk job" while standing up. Stand-up desks have been a cult item for years -- I've been tempted -- and it's ostensibly better for you than sitting all day. In fact, some studies show higher rates of diabetes, obesity, and heart disease among people who sit to work as opposed to people who stand. And the Mayo Clinic endocrinologist who rote that paper not only stands to work, he works while on a treadmill set to 1 mph. But other experts call the theory "stupid." I've known radio guys who stand and most who sit at the board. What's your preference? (Washington Post)
