We Can't Have Your Shoes Clash With Your Helmet, Son

A high school football player in Mississippi is suing his school district for his being cut from the team. His argument: He got cut for wearing pink cleats in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The coach claims that the cut wasn't for the cleats but for refusing an order to take them off. Oh, I see, there's a HUGE difference there. And while, yes, you're supposed to listen to your coach and follow orders and all that, this IS high school football, not the NFL and not the military. This COULD have been handled a LOT better by the adults in charge. (USA Today; Thanks to Dave Elliott at WGUF/Naples-Ft. Myers for the link) UPDATE: They reinstated the kid. So all's well. The end.
