Nothing Personal, Just Business

The personal effects of the first soldier to die in the Afghanistan war, including medals, were stashed in a storage locker. Then her father got sick, missed payments, and the contents of the locker were auctioned off. Now, the family wants those medals, and the used furniture dealer who bought the locker contents at auction wants money for them. More money than they have. He reasons that the stuff is worthless to anybody but them, so he can hold them up for lots of money. It's all about money for him. On the other hand, how did the whole family let precious family items languish and get sold off? (Chicago Tribune)
