Seems Like An Okay Guy. What Harm Can He Do?
-
How did the L.A. D.A.'s office let a repeat-offender thief out on bail so that he could allegedly murder four people in a string of home invasion robberies? Simple: He had two strikes, and had several charges that could have been the third strike, and the prosecutors were hesitant to send this nice guy to prison for life. And it turns out that he wasn't nice at all. Interestingly, he also was an anti-three-strikes-law advocate, and now we know why. This is why you can't look at a guy whose third strike is a seemingly less serious offense as deserving of special consideration; it's likely that he's up to something worse than stealing a slice of pizza.
