Dick Vitale And The Other Dozen Rays Fans Are On Tenterhooks
-
A writer for Forbes, citing no sources but saying he's "hearing" this, says that Major League Baseball plans to fold the Tampa Bay Rays in a contraction move. But others, including this guy, note that it's nearly impossible for baseball to contract any teams (the Oakland A's are another target) at this point, considering what the union would do. And the Rays are locked into a lease. Is this stuff being floated to try to force Tampa or St. Pete to finally get moving on a new ballpark? Or is it just guessing?
