'If You Don't Eat Your Meat, You Can't Have Any Pudding'

At this public school in Chicago, bringing lunch from home is forbidden. Kids HAVE to eat what the school gives them, because the school administrators insist on enforcing "healthful" menu choices. And the kids hate it so much that a lot of food ends up in the trash. Also, because most of the lunches are subsidized, this ends up costing taxpayers and making the food supplier rich. But it's all in the name of Centralized Meal Decision Making. I'm surprised they don't go to families' homes and force-feed them flax cereal. (Chicago Tribune)
