Maybe They Should Stick To Inspecting Your Shampoo Bottles

In post-9/11 America, you can. apparently, be prevented from boarding a flight, taken to a room, and handcuffed for carrying Arabic flash cards in your backpack. The guy in question is learning Arabic so he can work as a translator of Al-Jazeera. The TSA guys didn't trust that explanation for long enough to make him miss the flight, then they took off the cuffs, gave him a ticket for the next day, and sent him off without an apology. Vigilance is a good idea, but there IS such a thing as being over-careful. Common sense would be nice, but the TSA salaries aren't high enough to get common sense.
