Missed It By That Much

Yeah, people are pretty stupid all over the world. Take the people who panicked and evacuated Rome because some seismologist predicted a big earthquake would occur Wednesday. Oh, yeah, he predicted it in 1915. And people spread the "news" on Facebook and Twitter, and people stayed home form work and kept their kids home from school and... no quake. Oh, wait, yes, there WAS a big quake... in Spain. Actually, it was a 5.2, which killed 10 people and toppled some old, not-quake-safe buildings, but that's hardly the "big one." Needless to say, this will not quell the panic. (Daily Telegraph; BBC)
