Resistance Is Futile. Really
-
This happened the other day, but it's worth looking at: The Indiana Supreme Court has ruled that people have no right to resist if the cops illegally enter their home. Yes, the court says that if the cops have no warrant and no right to come in, and you know this, and you try to block them from coming in, you can be thrown in jail. This happens to conflict with common law that's been the prevailing rule for centuries, as well as the Fourth Amendment, but, apparently, if you're on the Indiana Supreme Court, you can ignore all of that. The reasoning, by the way, is that your resistance to the police's illegal activity might cause a risk of violent confrontation, as if it's YOUR fault, and your remedy is to wait and file a civil case against the cops, because you should have to spend your time and money when they hurt you. They'll put pretty much anybody on the court these days, won't they? (Fox News; Thanks to James Parker at WRNO (Rush Radio 99.5)/New Orleans for the link)
