The Trick Is To Have Enough Money In Your Account To Buy Stuff
-
Have you seen this Square thing? It takes an iPhone and basically turns it into a cash register, only better. The idea is that with a little swiper attachment, a clerk can roam the store and take your payment -- cash, credit, or debit -- right there and transmit a receipt to your phone. And the consumer can walk up to the store and get the entire inventory showing up on the screen, and can select and pay before even walking in. And you know about Near Field Communications, which is yet another technology that replaces your wallet by allowing you to pay for things, credit or debit, with a wave of your cell phone. In ten years, you might not recognize how we pay for things anymore. (San Francisco Chronicle)
