Here we go again: A study says that over a third of students entering college need remedial courses to help them get up to the level they need to be to even start college-level courses. Many of them had 3.0 or better GPAs in high school. And that raises the question of why high schools are pushing kids through and giving them good grades when they're not being taught what they need to know for college. (Chicago Sun-Times)
