It's Depressing To Even Watch Them On TV
-
This article muses about the reasons that Dodgers attendance has plummeted. The numbers don't tell the whole story; whatever they say the attendance is, the actual number of bodies in the ballpark is way lower. They blame hatred of McCourt, the team's bad play, and the occasional attempted murder, but as a local who used to go all the time and doesn't now, I can tell you that a major problem is the price. Parking skyrocketed, ticket prices went up, and the ballpark experience went from pleasant to awful. Parking is a hassle because changes in the traffic patterns make it hard to figure out where to go and how to get out of there, a large number of fans who DO go are there to drink and threaten people, and it's just depressing to be there.
