They'll Hold Out For $600. Plus Tattoos And A Car
-
It is, of course, a typical Steve Spurrier bid for attention that the South Carolina coach called for college football players to be paid $300 a game for expenses. It won't happen, but... well... why not? The kids earn their schools a fortune while not being allowed to even work, and, let's face it, many aren't there to get an education. So why not throw them a few bucks? The Ohio State scandal might not have happened if... well, okay, they would have taken cars and stuff regardless of the $300. But it's still not that outrageous to think that the "amateurs" deserve some pay. (Orlando Sentinel; Thanks to Dave Elliott at WGUF/Naples-Ft. Myers for the link)
