If One Thing Doesn't Get You....

That E.coli strain that's sweeping across Europe from Germany? It appears to be a previously unknown, 'super toxic' strain. Oh, and they don't know where it's coming from or exactly how best to stop it. So... yeah. Meanwhile, one reaction is that American Airlines has taken salads off the menu for all flights departing from Europe, just in case a vegetable happens to be carrying the E.coli virus. And then there's the MRSA staph infection, which British scientists say they've found in cows' milk and swab samples from humans. And they admit that it can't be detected in standard tests, although they say it's not likely uou'll get it from milk. Ah. You know, this doesn't sound good, does it? (New York Times; CNN; Reuters)
