You know, it would be easy to call U2 hypocrites for campaigning against third-world poverty while avoiding Irish taxes by moving their corporation to the Netherlands, but I don't think the two are necessarily even related. The protestors planning to harass the band at the Glastonbury festival are assuming that the only way to help the poor is to have the government hand them money and food and other things. Bono gives a lot of his own money to charity. Why is one okay and the other bad? And if he saves some of his money from the bureaucracy and gives a lot of it to the poor, isn't that a win?
