Bet It's Less Boring, But A Little Noisy
-
Among the proposals to improve public education, this one's truly different: How about putting, as in one example, 197 students in one classroom? No learning could possibly take place there, right? Not so fast: The students are not all learning the same thing. Instead, they're broken up into smaller clusters of students doing different tasks and learning in their own way and on their own pace. Teachers roam and oversee the students, but they don't stand up in front of a blackboard and make the kids follow along at the same pace. It's sort of supervised independent study. I could see that working for a lot of kids. (Sydney Morning Herald)
