Two days later, people are still spitting mad about the ending of "The Killing," AMC's Americanized version of the Danish mini-series. Not to spoil anything -- it's not like a lot of people were watching, anyway -- but the ending first gave you the impression that the detectives had solved the murder, but then showed you that one of the detectives had sabotaged the investigation and that the one being led away for the murder wasn't the murderer. People feel betrayed, like they put all that time into watching and the producers flipped them the bird. It's the "Twin Peaks" Laura Palmer thing all over again. What do TV producers owe their audiences? If it's a murder mystery, do they owe you closure? (Los Angeles Times)
