Imagine Who They Reject

They've ID'd the driver of the truck that hit the Amtrak train in the fatal accident in Nevada and it turns out that he'd piled up several citations in California yet had no problem getting a truck driver's license in Nevada about a month ago. Are there any standards left for getting a license? Does your record not count? Granted, we don't know if he was at fault, or whether there was mechanical trouble, but, really, it shouldn't be that easy for someone with a lot of tickets to be licensed. (San Francisco Chronicle)
