So He Mischaracterized The Truth. He's A Politician. That's What They Do

President Obama, in pushing for Obamacare, made a lot over his mother's denial of health coverage due to her pre-existing cancer. A new book by a New York Times reporter says that his story isn't true -- his mother got complete coverage under her health care plan, and she was denied under a separate disability plan that was not a health care policy. That's a pretty significant distinction, but the White House says that, well, she was using the disability payments to cover her co-payments on the health care. But that's not what he claimed, and wouldn't have anything to do with actual health care coverage. He said she was denied health care coverage due to a pre-existing condition. According to the book, she wasn't. (New York Times)
