More Proof Nobody Knows Anything
-
Here's one that's pretty much tailor-made for a radio topic: A new book, a follow-up to a similar book by the same authors, debunks common health myths, like: Your eyes won't "stick that way" if you cross them. Hydrogen Peroxide isn't good for cleaning wounds. Sit-ups won't lead to six-pack abs. Stretching before exercise doesn't do much for you. Paper towels get your hands dryer than air dryers. Echinacea doesn't do anything for a cold, although zinc and chicken soup might. But aloe vera DOES help heal wounds. So it's not all bad news. (Louisville Courier-Journal)
