Better Late Than... Actually, To Her, It Doesn't Matter
-
They've identified the remains found in the desert near Baker, CA ("World's Tallest Thermometer," or is it "World's Largest Thermometer"? I never remember) as a woman who was murdered... in 1946. The remains were found in 1971. The identification was now. Took long enough. The victim's nephew, now a Texas police chief, says he didn't even know she existed. A suspect confessed to shooting her and dumping the body in the desert, but they didn't find the body until 25 years after the fact, and didn't know it was her until now. (San Bernardino Sun)
