The case was a personal injury suit: A guy walking to work got hit by a truck and injured. But the detailed description of what happened to him -- he had infected, rotting flesh and bone, and they amputated his leg -- apparently caused a juror to faint. And when that happened, the parties quickly settled for $10 million, because, well, you could see that it wasn't likely to go the defendants' way. Is that one way to cut your jury duty short: faint, and the parties rush into a settlement to end the case? (WCAU-TV (NBC10)/Philadelphia)
