We Don't Take Direction Well From Our OWN Bosses. Why Would We Listen To Him?

The St. Petersburg Times' Eric Deggans is spot on when he notes that by telling journalists to use a new official photo of Florida Governor Rick Scott rather than any other picture, his press office is pretty much guaranteeing that nobody will use the new picture, ever. If you want the press not to do something, tell them to do it. And vice versa. And you can't blame them. Why would any self-respecting journalist take direction from a politician?
