Miami? Violating NCAA Rules? Why, That's Shocking
-
The chief takeaways from the explosive Yahoo! Sports article about the University of Miami football program and the booster who says he funneled money, gifts, and sex, among other things, to players over about a decade (and amassed his wealth in a Ponzi scheme), are that a) it confirms the suspicions of practically everyone about that program, b) as long as they don't get hit with the NCAA death penalty, it'll continue, and c) the guy's pretty pathetic, assuming that because he showered these guys with gifts, they were his friends. While you're at it, read this about the booster and you'll see exactly how delusional a man can be. What I will never understand is how nobody -- nobody -- among the players, coaches, administration, his investors/victims, or the people he partied with noticed that he was a weasel with no apparent business being transacted with all that money. They all just joined him on the ride and jumped off when the heat was on. Human nature. (Yahoo! Sports)
