Get The Little Burger And Split The Regular Fries With Someone. It's A LOT Of Food
-
The interesting thing about this article chronicling the genesis of Five Guys Burgers and Fries is in the middle, where the writer, a vegetarian, naturally, gets a generally negative, haughty review of the burgers from a famous food critic, the L.A. Weekly's Jonathan Gold. What she doesn't mention about Gold is that the guy's tastes run towards bizarre ethnic foods, the kind where they use body parts you wouldn't assume are edible. Food that regular people eat is not his specialty, unless it's made in some weird way by some hole-in-the-wall place with no sign and bars on the windows. Of COURSE he won't like a fast food burger. Five Guys, of course, IS good, if you want a fast food burger. It's not gourmet, but not all food has to be.
