The Senate version of a healthcare bill will cost $849 billion over ten years and will cover 94% of eligible Americans, and would cut healthcare costs by a trillion, according to the Congressional Budget Office; the plan would be financed by cuts in Medicare payments. There would be subsidies for people who can't afford insurance, fines if you don't take insurance, and a public option that states could opt out of. Now, Harry Reid needs 60 votes, and that will not be easy.
