Nothing Says Classic Art Like A Penis Tree
-
Ten years ago, in a Tuscan town, they discovered a 13th century fresco. And they brought in art experts to restore it, and they did, except for one thing: They painted over phalluses that were hanging from trees in the picture. The restorers say they didn't do anything, that the changes came about from salt deposits and stuff. Why, though, this town had public art with a tree festooned with penises and testicles, nobody knows. That would be good news to know; it would say a lot about the town and the 13th century.
