Local TV news is dying, shrunk by budgets and battered by online competition, right? Apparently not: Stations are adding newscasts and staff and starting the afternoon/evening news earlier and earlier. Granted, the hours tend to have a lot of filler, but if you listen to the critics, this isn't supposed to be happening. (New York Times)
